The days after MDCAT feel longer than the three hours of the test. Then the result arrives, and with it a new set of questions: where do I check it, what does my score mean, can I get it rechecked, and what happens next? This guide answers all of them, with the official result portals for every conducting university and the steps that follow your result.
The short answer: Check your MDCAT result on the website of the university that conducted your test, not on PM&DC's site. In 2026 that was KMU for KPK (cas.kmu.edu.pk), UHS for Punjab (results.uhs.edu.pk), Sukkur IBA for Sindh, BUMHS for Balochistan, and SZABMU for Islamabad, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan; NUMS publishes its own test's result. You usually need your roll number and the CNIC you registered with. Results come out within about a week of the test, and recheck windows close within days.
Where to check your MDCAT result
Since MDCAT became a provincially conducted test, each conducting university declares its own result. PM&DC's own MDCAT result page only lists the 2020, 2021 and 2022 sessions. Here are the official portals for MDCAT 2026:
| Where you sat the test | Result portal | What you enter |
|---|---|---|
| Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KMU) | cas.kmu.edu.pk/kmumdcat | Year, roll number, CNIC |
| Punjab (UHS) | results.uhs.edu.pk | Test, roll number, name as on the admittance card |
| Sindh (Sukkur IBA Testing Services) | iba-suk.edu.pk/sts/announcements | Find your seat number in the result list |
| Balochistan (BUMHS) | bumhs.edu.pk result card | CNIC, MDCAT roll number |
| Islamabad, AJK, GB, Riyadh (SZABMU) | admission.szabmu.edu.pk | MDCAT 2026 roll number |
| NUMS MDCAT (Armed Forces colleges) | numspak.edu.pk, Results menu | Roll number, CNIC |

Use only official sites. Result-checking apps and social media pages copy results late and sometimes wrongly. UHS's MDCAT guide tells candidates that the official UHS website and helpline are their only trusted sources.
How to check your MDCAT result, step by step
KMU (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)
- Open cas.kmu.edu.pk and click KMU MDCAT Result, which opens the KMU MDCAT portal.
- Choose Download Result Card 2026.
- Select the year, enter your roll number and CNIC, type the captcha and click Search.
- Download and save the result card. You will upload it or quote it when you apply for admission.
The same portal has the KMU MDCAT answer keys for all four paper codes (A, B, C and D), so you can check your carbon copy against them.
UHS (Punjab)
- Open results.uhs.edu.pk.
- Select the entry test result from the list.
- Enter your roll number and your name exactly as they appear on your admittance card.
- View and save your result. UHS's recount portal shows obtained marks and percentage on the official result summary.
Sukkur IBA (Sindh)
- Open the STS announcements page.
- Find Final Result of MDCAT 2026 and click View all Docs.
- Open the overall result (top to bottom) or the list of qualified candidates.
- Search the PDF for your seat number. The list shows your district and obtained marks out of 180.
For 2026, Sukkur IBA posted the provisional result on 25 September, resolved grievances, and posted the final result on 27 September 2026.
BUMHS (Balochistan)
- Open the BUMHS entry test result card page and select MDCAT-2026.
- Enter the CNIC number you used to get your admittance card, and the MDCAT roll number printed on it.
- Submit and save your result card.
SZABMU (Islamabad, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, Riyadh)
- Open SZABMU's MDCAT 2026 result card page (linked from its news notice "SZABMU MDCAT 2026 result declared").
- Enter your MDCAT 2026 roll number and the captcha.
- Download your result card.
NUMS MDCAT
NUMS lists "MDCAT 2026 Result" and "MDCAT 2026 Retotaling Result" under the Results menu on numspak.edu.pk, and its result card portal asks for your roll number and CNIC. NUMS shows the result as a percentage, not as marks out of 180. NUMS MDCAT 2026 was held on 13 September 2026, and you then apply for NUMS admissions by logging in with the same CNIC and password you used to register for the test.
What your result shows
For PM&DC's MDCAT, the result is your score out of 180, often with a percentage. To work out the percentage yourself: marks ÷ 180 × 100. For example, 150 out of 180 is 83.33%.
| Your score | Percentage | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 99 or more | 55% or more | Eligible to apply for MBBS and BDS |
| 90 to 98 | 50% to 54.4% | Eligible to apply for BDS only |
| 89 or less | Below 50% | Not eligible for MBBS or BDS in this cycle |
These are PM&DC's passing marks: 55% for MBBS and 50% for BDS. Sukkur IBA's final list for Sindh states the same "CUT OFF SCORE: 55% for MBBS, 50% for BDS". Passing makes you eligible; your college depends on your aggregate. Read MDCAT passing marks for what a score really gets you.
Can I get my MDCAT result rechecked?
Yes, every conducting university offered some form of recounting or grievance process in 2026, but the windows are short, usually two to five days after the result.
- KMU: the KMU MDCAT portal has "Apply for Retotalling 2026" (roll number, CNIC and your remarks) and "Search Rechecking / Retotalling Result 2026". For MDCAT 2025, KMU announced that candidates could apply for rechecking within three days of the result.
- UHS: the MDCAT-2026 Result Recount and Review Portal took applications until 30 September 2026. Applicants generated a bank challan, uploaded an image of the result card (and optionally the bubble sheet carbon copy), and uploaded the paid challan.
- SZABMU: recounting ran from 27 to 29 September 2026, with a fee of Rs. 3,000; candidates uploaded the carbon copy of the answer sheet and the paid fee slip.
- Sukkur IBA: grievances on the provisional result (25 September 2026) were verified and resolved before the final result on 27 September.
- NUMS: publishes a separate retotaling result. In 2025, its retotaling requests were allowed until 4 PM on 20 October 2025.
Keep your carbon copy. Recounting compares the official record with your answer sheet's carbon copy. Check your copy against the official answer key on the evening of the test, so you know straight away whether your result looks right.
Recounting checks that your answers were counted correctly. It does not re-mark the paper. Disputes about the questions themselves go through a separate review process on the question paper and answer key. At UHS, for example, the 2025 guide opened question reviews on the afternoon of the test and answer-key challenges until 6 PM the day after the key was published.
When is the MDCAT result announced?
Within about a week of the test. UHS's MDCAT 2025 guide committed to declaring the result within seven days of the test, and the 2026 results came out on a similar timetable:
| Conducting body | MDCAT 2026 test | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Sukkur IBA (Sindh) | 20 September 2026 | Provisional 25 September, final 27 September |
| SZABMU (Islamabad, AJK, GB, Riyadh) | 20 September 2026 | Result notification dated 26 September |
| KMU, UHS, BUMHS | 20 September 2026 | Declared on their portals; check each portal for the date |
Answer keys usually come first, often on the evening of the test. KMU announced for 2025 that its answer key would be uploaded on the evening of the test so candidates could calculate their provisional scores.
How many students appeared in MDCAT?
These are the official figures we could confirm:
- MDCAT 2026: PM&DC reported 138,158 registered candidates, tested in 34 cities and towns and at one international centre in Riyadh.
- MDCAT 2025: PM&DC reported 140,071 registered candidates in September 2025, and 140,129 in its press conference of 22 October 2025, competing for about 22,000 MBBS and BDS seats.
- KPK, 2025: KMU reported that 39,986 candidates appeared (20,266 male and 19,720 female) at 43 centres in eight districts.
- Islamabad, AJK, GB and Riyadh, 2026: SZABMU's result notification shows 5,964 candidates, of whom 5,648 appeared and 316 were absent; 4,157 were eligible for MBBS and 4,822 for BDS.
- Sindh, 2026: Sukkur IBA's overall final result lists 33,336 candidates. By our count of its official lists, 16,507 scored at least 99 (eligible for MBBS and BDS), and 19,323 scored at least 90 (eligible for BDS).

We have not included figures that appear only in news reports. When a conducting university publishes official result statistics, we add them here.
What to do after your MDCAT result
Your result is the start of the admission process, not the end. The order is the same every year:

- Save your result card and check every detail: name, roll number, CNIC and marks.
- Apply for recounting only if your carbon copy and the answer key show a real difference, and do it inside the window.
- Work out your aggregate. PM&DC's regulations set MDCAT 50%, FSc 40% and Matric 10% for public and private colleges. Every MDCAT mark adds about 0.278. Use the aggregate calculator or read how to calculate MDCAT aggregate.
- Compare with last year's closing merit to set realistic choices: see MDCAT closing merit, KMU closing merit or UHS closing merit, and try the college predictor.
- Apply for admission to your province's admitting university when it opens applications (for example KMU's CAS portal for KPK's public colleges), and to private colleges if you want them. PM&DC's regulations allow you to apply to both public and private colleges.
- Follow the merit lists. Public colleges admit through at least three consecutive merit lists. If you are selected, you must deposit the fee within three working days, or you lose the seat for that year. Our guide to KMU merit lists, upgrades and the waiting list explains how upgrades work.
PM&DC's 2026 regulations also set the outer dates: public medical colleges' merit lists must be public by 15 December and admissions completed by 31 December; for public dental colleges the dates are 10 and 15 February. Private colleges issue their final merit lists by 15 January.
Not the result you wanted? An MDCAT result stays valid for three years, so you can sit the test again and apply with a better score. Read what to do if you are not selected and the MDCAT repeaters guide before you decide.

Can I apply for rechecking of my MDCAT result?
Yes, within a short window after the result. In 2026, KMU offered retotalling on its MDCAT portal, UHS had a recount and review portal until 30 September, and SZABMU took recounting applications from 27 to 29 September for a fee of Rs. 3,000.
What is a good MDCAT score?
99 (55%) makes you eligible for MBBS and 90 (50%) for BDS, but government MBBS seats need much more. In 2025-26 the last open-merit MBBS seat in a KPK public college closed at an aggregate of 93.107.
